2009_mexico_bbx_bannerThe latest Bodyboard Expedition (BBX) video contest was down the lush coast of Mainland Mexico.  The exploratory search for un-ridden waves was labeled as “the greatest adventure yet” by leader Jacob Reeve.  Complete with wedges, reefs, and sandy peaks, we know your going to enjoy rating the contestant’s performances. As the public it is now your opportunity to be the judge.  Its simple, you watch each rider’s segment, and rate their performance: http://www.expeditionseries.com/contest_mexico2009.html.  The polls will be open for the next 60 days (until October 31).  We will then determine the results, strictly according to public consensus.

About us:

Our mission is to help rise the next generation of bodyboarders, promoting power, style, bravery, character and skill. We desire to generate a global exposure and fascination with the sport and culture of bodyboarding.  Using the latest technology, we host a new kind of video adventure competition which documents, showcases, compares and contrasts the next generation of bodyboarders in waves best suited for the sport.

The Bodyboard Expedition (BBX) hosts a new format of competitions that uses video as the platform for a peer poll judgment on performance. Conceptualized by professional bodyboarder Jacob Reeve in 2006 this new breed of contests has been warmly received by the bodyboarding community.

We travel with contestants to specific locations for an extended period of time. This allows each rider to perform to their maximum potential, not bound by unreasonable time limits and bad conditions. In replacement of traditional judges, we send three videographers to shoot every wave and every session. After each trip our postproduction department edits custom segments for each rider. We then post the rider’s profiles and segments online for public viewing and voting. Instead of three unenthusiastic judges, the decision of performance is now in the public’s hands.
