Thursday through Saturday, one of the most powerful storms in years hammered the mid-Atlantic and northeast. Though the actual low pressure system itself wasn’t all that impressive, the pressure gradient between it and the high to it’s northwest created storm-force (a level below hurricane force) northeast winds that whipped the Atlantic into a frothing mess, eating beaches alive and creating horrendous floods in low-lying areas.
