My lovely wife Vicki won both her quarter and semifinal on her way to the final in this past weekend’s U.S. Open of Bodyboarding. Two of her old Tour rivals Karla Costa Taylor and Claudia Ferrari, both Brazilians now living in Hawaii took 1st and 4th respectively, and California’s own Tara Parsons took out the second spot with a fantastic final wave.
In the Men’s Pro, Jacob Romero from Hawaii took down 2nd place Jeff Hubbard (current World Champ). The DK division was won by current DK World Champ David Hubbard.
Some solid head-high combo swell provided plenty of surf for the competitors. The USBA Grand Slam now moves over to Hawaii for July’s Sandy Beach event.
