Well, the east coast hurricane season has begun in earnest! Right on the heels of last weekend's epic Hurricane Bill swell, soon-to-be Hurricane Danny is developing to the east of the Bahamas, following a similar, but much closer to the coast track:

Drew emailed about his recent surf sessions at Wedge and his upcoming travel plans..... "This was the last part of the big swell and there were only a handfull of guys out and it was still about 5-8 and really clean. And for plans i will be leaving for Jersey on friday to do the USBA and hopefully score some of the leftovers from hurricane bill."

Wow! What a long day. Honestly, with all the things going on in my life these days, finding an hour a day to surf every day is usually all I can muster. Today though, I surfed three separate sessions- something I haven't done in many, many years. So, here's how the day went down:

The trip over was a long one. Up before 5am on Friday, August 21st, we wrangled the groms out of bed and made it to LAX at the perfect time in the pre-dawn darkness. Parked at Lot B and took the shuttle to the terminal, got through security (a nightmare with little kids!) and finally onto the plane for the 4 1/2 hour flight to Dulles Airport.

Well, we heard back from our team rider Paul Roach this week as he said he had a great trip to Australia. Some footage should be circling around soon, so keep tuned in. Matt Lackey got a whole segment of the man for his upcoming film: "Lackey: the Movie".
